Exit Slip:5/6/10

1). the overall task of today's lesson was to use TI connect to insert the function and graph from the calculator so we can be able to insert the image to google docs inside the 2 column table.

2). it was necessary because we reduce the surface area but we kept the volume the same. also to show the reader what we did and how we did it.

Exit slip: 5/4/10

1)The new surface area is going to be used for my PBAT when I define the height for my can, and also when i simplifying my functions. The ultimate goal is to use the new function in solving for the height of the cans, and to make our can cheaper by using less material but still keeping the same volume.

2) I would use this function to visually represent the relationship between the height and the surface area by changing the height and showing the difference between the surface area by doing a before and after model.I will also create an actual figure and change the height and surface area of my can in order to show the relationship between the two.

Exit Slip 5/3/10

1).It is necessary for us to combine two formulas in so we can simplify our formulas, and find the height and the surface area.

2. I need to combine the volume of a cylinder along with the surface area , I would need to know how to find my height, surface area and volume. I would need to know how to substitute values in , divide, simplified and also justify. I would also have to know my units.

Exit Slip 4/30

This PBAt is called the Can Project.

The task of this PBAT is to minimize the material that is being used for cans or cylinder due to the company I pick is being pressured by consumers. My task is to write a letter to the company that I pick. Depending on the company of my can I will be presenting the dimensions of my old and new can. I have to come up with a way to make the can cheaper but I have to use the same materials, but still keeping the same amount of volume of my can. I have to make two physical models of my can before and after. The way I will do this is; I have to keep the same volume of the can but make the surface area smaller. Next I have to find the radius, and height of the can as well. This is all the process of measuring the dimension and knowing what you need to decrease to minimize the material being used by these companies.
