Final Post 6/14/10

1). Well this year went great for me. This year's math class has helped me because you showed me how to grow as a math person. you've taught me how to project my self as a college student using the computers.

2). I wouldn't mind you sending the letter to the company of my choice.

3). Keep doing what your doing, great job. you just need to be mindful of others, everybody doesn't think like you, also you should explain your task a little bit more.

All The Best
Thanks Wan :)

Exit Slip:5/6/10

1). the overall task of today's lesson was to use TI connect to insert the function and graph from the calculator so we can be able to insert the image to google docs inside the 2 column table.

2). it was necessary because we reduce the surface area but we kept the volume the same. also to show the reader what we did and how we did it.

Exit slip: 5/4/10

1)The new surface area is going to be used for my PBAT when I define the height for my can, and also when i simplifying my functions. The ultimate goal is to use the new function in solving for the height of the cans, and to make our can cheaper by using less material but still keeping the same volume.

2) I would use this function to visually represent the relationship between the height and the surface area by changing the height and showing the difference between the surface area by doing a before and after model.I will also create an actual figure and change the height and surface area of my can in order to show the relationship between the two.

Exit Slip 5/3/10

1).It is necessary for us to combine two formulas in so we can simplify our formulas, and find the height and the surface area.

2. I need to combine the volume of a cylinder along with the surface area , I would need to know how to find my height, surface area and volume. I would need to know how to substitute values in , divide, simplified and also justify. I would also have to know my units.

Exit Slip 4/30

This PBAt is called the Can Project.

The task of this PBAT is to minimize the material that is being used for cans or cylinder due to the company I pick is being pressured by consumers. My task is to write a letter to the company that I pick. Depending on the company of my can I will be presenting the dimensions of my old and new can. I have to come up with a way to make the can cheaper but I have to use the same materials, but still keeping the same amount of volume of my can. I have to make two physical models of my can before and after. The way I will do this is; I have to keep the same volume of the can but make the surface area smaller. Next I have to find the radius, and height of the can as well. This is all the process of measuring the dimension and knowing what you need to decrease to minimize the material being used by these companies.

11.4 Exit Slip 4-27-10

The important concepts of today's lesson was solving for the heights of my can. Also to find the area of a rectangle using length*width.

The mathematical tools i used was a calculator and Google spreadsheet. these tools were helpful because I did all my calculations on the calculator and then put in on a spreadsheet so it can look better i was able to insert a graph there also.

using a calculator and spreadsheet made my job easier because i just have to put my work in the i can highlight it and drag it down instead of writing it on a piece of paper that can get messy at anytime.

problem

hey wan, you told me to make a new post because you made a mistake on my Edline here is the mistake: 4/9/10 Graphing on a Google Spreadsheet 8/9 13.33/15

The function was not copied down from the first row of Column B , if you check my spreadsheet you will see that the function was copied down in column B. so can you fix my grade.

Also there is another problem on Edline 16 4/15/10 Exit Slip 4-Writing - Graphs mi . I already did this it's not missing.

Another problem i fix the error for: 4/15/10 Writing - Graphs 8/9 13.33/15
Min. for y1, but max for y2 in the third bullet.

Last issue what mistake did i make on the exit slip : 4/9/10 Exit Slip 2 Blog on Graphing 8/9 4.44/5
